This fabulous multi-centre holiday combines a visit to the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia allowing you to experience some of the iconic locations in  Canada’s West.

Firstly, you will enjoy a 3-night stay in the beautiful mountain town of Banff, Canada's first national park. With time to explore the area, with its glacier fed lakes and stunning mountain peaks, we have included admission to the Banff Gondola . Views from the top of Sulphur Mountain will take your breathe away. During your stay in Banff why not take a trip to Lake Louise one of the most photographed lakes in the word. Following your stay in Banff you will then embark on a 2-day rail journey on board the award-winning Rocky Mountaineer. Travelling on the popular “First Passage to the West” route travelling between Banff and Vancouver , you will be looked after in SilverLeaf Service where you will  be treated to freshly cooked meals served at your seat and thrilling stories from the Onboard Hosts.

Transfer by coach from Calgary to Banff for an overnight stay.

A full day to explore Banff and the surrounding area.  In town, you'll find lots of excitment, including shopping, cafes and museums.  Check out the Cav and Basin National Historic Site or take a dip in the hot mineral pools at the Upper Hot Springs.  Our specialists can advise you on what excursions are available.  A 'must do' would be to take the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulpher Mountain where the views of the Bow Valley are stunning!

today you may choose to go further afield.  Perhaps a tour to beautiful Lake Louise or travel the Columbia Icefields as far north as Jasper.  Our specialists can advise you on what excursions are available.

Today your 2-day rail journey adventure begins.  Board the Rocky Mountaineer in SilverLeaf and begin your journey.  The railcar will provide you with views of snow-packed peaks, tumbling mountain streams and earth-carving glaciers.  The Spiral Tunnels, Rodgers Pass and Glacier National Park (12 per cent of it is solid ice), all noted landmarks, will add to the awe of your journey.  after crossing the Continental Divide, you'll enter British Columbia.  The glacier-clad mountains give way to arid grassland hills of the Kamloops region.

Your Rocky Mountaineer train will continue west before turning south into the Fraser River Valley.  With the return of the mountains, the landscape again changes dramatically.  The Canadian Cascades combine with thick for forests and the charging Fraser River to create a spectacular setting.  Along the way, you'll pass Hell's Gate, a narrow canyon with sheer, towering walls that transforms the Fraser River into a froth of surging rapids.  Arrive in Vancouver early evening.

Relax and enjoy the vibrant city of Vancouver - explore the city at your own pace.  Popular attractions include Gastown, Chinatown, Granville Square, Stanley Park and the Robson Street Shopping District.  Head up Grouse Mountain for amazing views of the city and visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge.  Try some of the amazing seafood, do a foodie tour or a brewery tour; there are so many different ways to explore this city.  Our specialists can advise you on what excursions are available.

Today will be the last day of your holiday and you will fly back to the UK.  Or perhaps you may wish to extend your stay!  there is so much to see and do.  Our specialists can advise you on various options including an additional night in Vancouver, a ferry ride to Victoria on Vancouver Island or perhaps a drive north on the Sea to Sky highway to the mountain town resort of Whistler.
