Itinerary

Fly to New Orleans where you will transfer to your hotel for three nights.

From its famous French Quarter balconies to the mansions on St. Charles, New Orleans oozes a sultry and intoxicating cool. Experience the laidback streets of the French Quarter with stops at St Louis Cathedral and Jackson Square on your morning city tour. Then head across lively Canal Street to the elegant tree-lined streets of the Garden District to see its grand mansions and a typical New Orleans above-ground cemetery. The rest of the day and evening are yours to do some more sightseeing, go shopping for souvenirs or simply relax.

Another full day to experience more of this exuberant and attractive city. For keen shoppers, Canal Street and the French Quarter offer an extensive array of unique stores and designer boutiques; or alternatively join an optional excursion on a swamp boat ride through the atmospheric bayous.

Drive through the heart of Cajun country to Baton Rouge for an orientation tour, featuring the stucco Georgian architecture of the Governor's Mansion, reported to be a copy of the White House, and the Louisiana State Capitol. Then on to elegant Natchez, once a thriving port in the golden years of the cotton trade. Your tour includes a visit to a graceful pre-Civil War home featuring fine collections of period furniture and paintings. The rest of the evening is at leisure.

Drive through rural Mississippi to Memphis, Tennessee, and acquaint yourself with the city during an orientation tour. This evening, head to Beale Street and check out some of the city’s famous blues clubs.

This morning is all about The King. No trip to Memphis is complete without a trip to the iconic home of Elvis Presley. On the Graceland Mansion Tour, you’ll explore the uniquely-decorated rooms he hung out and wrote music in; and the Memorial Garden, where Elvis and his parents were laid to rest. Afterwards, travel through the fertile farmlands of Tennessee to the 'Capital of Country Music', Nashville. The evening is at leisure.

Nashville is the ideal destination for all kinds of visitors: music fans, history buffs and southern lovers. Start the day with a visit to Studio B, Nashville's oldest surviving recording studio. From 1957-1977 there were more than 35,000 songs recorded here including 262 Elvis Presley recordings. Your sightseeing city tour passes the famous recording studios of Music Row; then behind the scenes of the music industry on a visit to the Country Music Hall of Fame to see musical memorabilia and the solid gold Cadillac that belonged to Elvis Presley. Tonight, enjoy reserved seats for an entertaining show at the world-famous Grand Ole Opry.

First stop today is Chattanooga, home of the ‘Chattanooga Choo Choo’. Enter the 'Peach State' of Georgia and continue through the pine and hardwood trees of Chattahoochee National Forest to the fast-growing metropolis of Atlanta, former home and burial place of assassinated civil rights leader, Martin Luther King Jr. A short visit to see the eternal flame and the graves of Martin Luther King and his wife is followed by an orientation tour of the city. The rest of the day is yours to explore further or relax.

Head through rich rolling farmland to the historic seaport of Savannah where your trolley tour highlights such attractions as the City Market, Madison Square, River Street and the Mercer House - which was the scene of numerous macabre deaths and featured in the 1994 John Berendt book ‘Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil’, later made into a film starring Kevin Spacey. Your evening is free to discover the city at leisure.

A free day to explore this picturesque coastal city. Shop on cobblestoned River Street or stroll among the many squares surrounded by elegant homes and pretty gardens. Don't miss Forsyth Park, with its famous fountain and flowerbeds – great for lunchtime concerts and people-watching – or the impressive Ships of the Sea Maritime Museum, where you can learn about Savannah's important role in maritime history.

Travel into the famous 'Sunshine State' of Florida, stopping first at St Augustine, the oldest European city in the United States. Your tour takes you to the city's historic district and the Spanish fortress, Castillo de San Marcos. Then drive to Orlando - USA's fun capital.

The day is yours to take advantage of the many attractions in the area, such as Universal Studios Florida and its companion parks, Islands of Adventure and of course, the world-famous Walt Disney World Resort.

Spend the last three days of our holiday in Orlando at your leisure.
