Titan’s VIP door-to-door travel service collects you from home for your flight to San Diego. On arrival, we transfer to the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina (4T), where we enjoy dinner tonight.

San Diego is the sixth-largest city in America, a centre for military industry, trade and biotechnology. But it also has many wonderful museums and parks, modern architecture and Victorian buildings, a thriving old town to explore and fine beaches to enjoy. We take a tour this morning, followed by time at leisure before we transfer to the port to embark Volendam (4T). Our cruise begins as we settle into our cabins and prepare for our first evening at sea, with a choice of restaurants and entertainment.
Once a small fishing village, Puerto Vallarta became an enticing coastal destination for the artists, writers and Hollywood stars of the 1960s. Explore the old town’s cobbled streets which link chic and quirky shops and open markets. See the red-tile roofs, white-washed adobe façades and wrought iron decorations that complete the ‘Vallarta style’ of Gringo Gulch. Or head inland to find adventure amongst the rugged canyons, jungles and mountains.
Huatulco is known for its beautiful bays and beaches. Spend today relaxing in a peaceful bay along the sun-drenched coastline, with the jagged Sierra Madre Mountains as a striking back-drop, or find an excursion to introduce you to the roots of Mexico, discovering authentic cultural and social characteristics, and getting involved with local habits and customs.
A day in Guatemala offers opportunities to see many wonderful things. Your choice of excursion could take you on a journey past magnificent volcanos, cattle farms and sugar cane plantations, to a coffee plantation, the Jade Museum and Factory or to Antigua, the colonial capital. Or visit the substantial ruins of Iximché, the capital of the Kaqchikel Maya kingdom, to learn of Mayan rituals and cosmology.
Between the string of volcanic peaks and pristine beaches that shape Nicaragua, lay lush mangrove forests, great lakes, and fields of sugar cane from which premium local rum is created to perfection. Spend your day in Puerto Corinto, a small scenic town bursting with authentic flavour, or stroll the Costa Azul for views of the bay and its islands, discover Mayan artefacts at the archaeological museum, or explore the remains of León Viejo, one of the oldest Spanish colonial settlements in the Americas, found buried under centuries of volcanic debris.
The city of Puerto Caldera is within easy reach of several of Costa Rica’s magnificent national parks, so you can choose to spend your day searching for scarlet macaws in Carara, viewing the Poás Volcano, the largest active volcano in the world; exploring the limestone caves of Barra Honda or searching for rare orchids in Tapanto. Wherever you go, be sure to take some binoculars into these vast, lush jungles that house spectacular flora, countless brightly-coloured birds, and creatures of all shapes and sizes including agouti, pacas, sloths, the endangered Geoffroy's Spider Monkey and even the poison dart frog.
Dubbed ‘one of the seven wonders of the modern world’ by the American Society of Civil Engineers, this 48-mile waterway divides two continents and connects two mighty oceans. Relax on board as we navigate this man-made artery, taking in the sights and sounds of the jungle.
The New Kingdom of Granada was created in the 16th century, as the land was taken from native peoples and colonised. After several sieges, Spain poured millions into the main port's defence, creating the fortifications you can see today as you wander through some of the best-preserved colonial areas of the Americas on a visit to Cartagena. Along with history, this Colombian city offers cultural intrigue and delicious meals of fresh Caribbean and Latin American flavours.
Enjoy a day relaxing on the white sands of Half Moon Cay, a small, pristine private island with a two-mile beach. You may prefer to spend your time hiking through its unspoilt interior to search for protected wildlife, dip in the clear sea and snorkel with stingrays, take a drink at a waterfront bar or shop for crafts made in the Bahamas at the small market.

We reach Florida early this morning and disembark in Fort Lauderdale after breakfast. We take a short orientation tour of Miami and enjoy a little free time before transferring to the airport for your overnight return flight to the UK.

Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
