Memphis Holidays

Find yourself toe-tapping to the sound of blues and rock ‘n’ roll in this vibrant city.

Responsible for putting these two classic genres on the map, this city still proudly displays its musical heritage like a badge of honour. With the likes of Elvis Presley, B.B. King and Johnny Cash all having recorded music at the legendary Sun Studios, there are very few places in America that can boast such an artistically rich history as Memphis.

For those who are interested in more than just the music scene, the Memphis Botanic Gardens are a wonderful outdoors experience and can be relished any time of year, Mud Island in the Mississippi River is great fun for the whole family, and the Memphis Zoo is one of only a handful in the US that houses giant pandas.

Memphis Holiday Highlights

Graceland - Home of Elvis

Adult: £52 Child: (7-12 yrs) £25

Step in and travel back in time to discover one of Elvis’ greatest prides! (Apart from his daughter and his music, of course.)

Born in a two-room house and having experienced the financial struggle of his parents for years, earning the big money and buying the finest house in town for his family was one of Presley’s great goals in life. Owning Graceland, an elegant and inviting mansion that the pop star shared with his parents, made this dream come true. For many people, Elvis’ mansion tells the story of the American Dream itself.

As soon as you set foot inside the charming manor, you start a journey to the most private aspects of Presley’s life. Discover the rooms in which Elvis and his daughter Lisa Marie once lived, laughed and spent time with their friends and family.

All our tickets include the Graceland Mansion Tour, during which you will follow the king’s footsteps. The Interactive iPad Tour takes you through the foyer, carries on to Elvis’ living room, dining room, the stairways and his parents’ bedroom. Next you will travel through the king’s kitchen to his downstairs area which includes the TV room and pool room.
Also included in the Mansion Tour are the Jungle Room, Vernon’s Office, Trophy Building, Racquetball Building and Meditation Garden (which includes Elvis' grave). The Interactive iPad tour is available in a variety of languages.

The Elvis Experience Tour and the Graceland VIP Tour offer a more detailed insight into the life of Elvis Presley. These tickets will both include Elvis Presley's Automobile Museum, Elvis: The Entertainer Showcase Museum and Elvis Discovery Exhibit. You can also choose both tours with Elvis' Airplanes. Please check each ticket for further information.

Hard Rock Cafe Memphis

Adult: £21 Child: (3-9 yrs) £21

As artist Billy Swan sang, "Memphis Rocks!" Located in the cotton-trading capital of the Delta, Memphis virtually invented blues, soul and rock 'n' roll.

Once well-known for heavy gambling, voodoo, murder and prostitution, Memphis is just a hard-rocking place where you can get great food and hear hot tunes.

Home to both Sun Records and Stax Records, this city has always been foremost in finding talent, and the rollicking live music scene is still kicking hard today.

Maybe that's why Memphis is mentioned in more songs than just about any other city.

So if you're out "Walking In Memphis" on the "Memphis Streets" and you get yourself a mean case of the "Walkin' Blues," just do the electric slide or "Memphis Boogie" right on into the Hard Rock Cafe Memphis and let us ease you into "Memphis Bliss."

Our historic building, set on boogie street Beale, has done time as a recording studio and a saloon - the perfect combination for an electrifying menu that'll make you stomp and shout.

Memphis was also Elvis's home, and the only place he ever felt he belonged. So come on down, y'all, for a taste of Southern hospitality and "Good Rockin' Tonight," 'cause you're bound to soon feel the exact same way. And while Elvis may have left the building (on a "Memphis Train?"), you can stay as long as you want. It's a "Memphis Thing"

Memphis is brimming with traditional Southern charm and hospitality. We were greeted as though we were family everywhere we went! If you’re a music buff, Memphis is well known for being the home of the blues and you can visit the Sun Studio where Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash started recording their music. World-famous Graceland needs no introduction. My top tip for Memphis would be to not plan too much in advance, it is a great city for winging it, and it’s easy to navigate, affordable and there is plenty to do.
