Arrive in the ‘City of Kings’, Lima where you will stay for 2 nights in the La Hacienda.
In the morning, explore the famous Plaza Mayor and Cathedral followed by a visit to the San Francisco monastery. Your afternoon is free and, in the evening, indulge in an authentic Peruvian meal at Mangos, a restaurant boasting nearly 15 years of service.
The morning begins with a flight to Cusco where you will visit Sacred Valley with a stop at Awanakancha, where you can see llamas, alpacas, vicuñas and guanucos. In the afternoon, settle into your hotel, La Casona de Yucay before heading out in the evening to the Sacred Valley of the Inkas, Añañau Restaurant.
Board the train to travel to Aguas Calientes, the village at the feet of Machu Picchu where you will then journey on to the fortress of Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. On your return to Sacred Valley, share stories of your day over dinner with your travel companions.
In the morning, visit Pablo Seminario's workshop where you can see beautiful pottery incorporating the ancient cultures of Peru. On your journey to Cusco, you will visit a local home in Ollantaytambo where you can sample a millenary beverage of the Incas at a chicheria before arriving at your hotel, San Agustin Plaza where your evening is free.
Visit the Coricancha which is known as the ‘Temple of the Sun’, discover the city’s cathedral and walk through the Inca Street of Loreto before heading to the San Pedro market, known for its local products. In the evening, you will join your Travel Director and fellow travellers for dinner at a local restaurant including a folkloric show of song and dance and spectacular views of the Plaza de Armas of Cusco.
Your Peruvian journey comes to an end or you can choose to extend your holiday in Puno and Lake Titicaca.
