Beijing was the home to the Emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Visit some of the monuments built during this period on this fantastic full-day tour of the city's leading site, which includes a delicious Chinese lunch.

The tour starts at Tian’anmen Square, located at the heart of Beijing. It is one of the largest public squares in the world and is a symbol for Chinese people.

Just next to the square is the Forbidden City, home to the 24 emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, this is the largest and best preserved of the imperial palaces.

This is followed by a visit to the Traditional Chinese Medicine Centre and the Temple of Heaven. The Temple of Heaven is the largest complex of ancient religious buildings in China and in the past where the emperors would pray for peace and good harvests.

To complete the tour, visit the Summer Palace located in the west of Beijing. On the way, there will be a short visit to a Pearl Free Market.

Regarded as a museum of gardens, the Summer Palace was used as a summer residence by the imperial rulers to escape the city's heat.

Chinese lunch at a local restaurant is included.

Please note that in order to visit the Forbidden City, Passport details are required at the time of booking. If these are not given you may not be allowed to enter. The Forbidden City is closed on Mondays except for on bank holidays and during July and August.
