Itinerary

Upon arrival into Vancouver Airport transfer independently to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore this coastal city. Overnight in Vancouver.

Today we have included a city tour which will begin with an introduction to downtown including Canada Place and Robson Street. Wind through historic and modern architectural wonders en route to Stanley Park, a 1,000-acre natural oasis. View the First Nations Totem Poles, and gaze upon rainforest and shoreline scenery on your way through the park. Get your camera ready for a photo stop at Prospect Point, with a great view of Lions Gate Bridge. Continue to the English Bay beach area, followed by the eclectic Granville Island Market. Top off this adventure with a glass elevator ride 169 metres above the streets at the Vancouver Lookout. You will enjoy panoramic views of the ocean, the Coastal Mountains, the city and rugged shoreline. Overnight in Vancouver.

You are free today to explore more of the city at leisure.  Indulge in fabulous shopping, have a coffee at the cities famous harbour or search for a bargain at the Granville Island Markets. You could also take a trip up Grouse Mountain for spectacular views over the city - on a clear day you can see as far as Seattle! Overnight in Vancouver.

Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the coastal city of Vancouver to Kamloops, in the heart of British Columbia’s interior. Farmland gives way to the towering peaks of the Coast Mountains before the rumble of raging waters hail the arrivals of Hell's Gate. Piney forests turn into the abstract beauty of dusty desert hills. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer travels along the shores of Kamloops Lake and into Kamloops. Overnight in Kamloops.

Your journey continues eastwards to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Once again you will see a spectacular array of scenery as you travel across ranchlands, along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels that form part of the rich rail history of the Canadian Rockies. Today’s highlights include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over Rogers Pass, the Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and, of course, the glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Your rail journey ends in the resort town of Banff.

Today is yours to enjoy Banff at leisure. Why not take a Gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain (included)? Enjoy the journey to the top and be greeted by amazing 360-degree views of Bow Valley and the 6 mountain ranges that surround the town. Other optional activities include soaking in the mineral pools at Upper Hot Springs, enjoying a nature walk on nearby mountain trails, visiting Banff’s historic museums, cruising on Lake Minnewanka or playing a round of golf at The Fairmont Banff Springs.  Overnight in Banff.

Today you will transfer by scheduled motorcoach from Banff to your Calgary hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore the wonders of the Stampede City! Overnight in Calgary.

Today is day 1 of your Calgary Stampede experience. Welcome to Calgary and “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth.” Dressed in your best cowboy fashion from belt buckles to chaps - not forgetting your hat - explore the Calgary Stampede grounds at leisure with your included admission. Walk back in time through an authentic Indian Village or stroll the streets of a recreated frontier town. This evening, watch the heart-stopping Chuckwagon Races in an all-out dash for the finish line - you will be left quaking in your new cowboy boots! Afterward, get ready for an outdoor stage show featuring hundreds of singers, dancers, and performers in a lavishly produced and choreographed spectacular. Overnight in Calgary.

Fuel up for your second day exploring the festivities by indulging in one of the many free pancake breakfasts dotted around the city. Return to the Stampede grounds to see anything you missed yesterday. Peruse the many stalls before heading to the Grandstand for the Calgary Stampede Rodeo this afternoon. Watch the professionals as they saddle up for world-class rodeo action on the West's wildest horses. You can also enjoy rodeo’s most famed event—bull riding! You will be in awe of the talent as you sit on the edge of your seat. Make the most of your time here and discover Canada’s country core. With square dancing, mock gunfights, country bands, restaurants and livestock, there is so much to see. Overnight in Calgary.

Today you will leave the excitement of the Calgary Stampede behind, check out of your Calgary Hotel and transfer independently to Calgary Airport for your flight back to the UK.
