Itinerary

Fly from the UK to Calgary, your gateway to the Canadian Rockies.  On arrival you will  transfer, by coach, to the beautiful mountain town of Banff where you will have an overnight hotel stay.

A full day to explore Banff and the surrounding area. In town you’ll find lots

of excitement shopping, cafés, nightlife, museums. We recommend you check out the Cave and Basin National Historic Site or the Banff Gondola  where you will see a panoramic view of the Bow Valley, and then take a dip in the hot mineral pools at the Upper Hot Springs . Our Canada Specialists can book and suggest a selection of excursions and attractions.

Included in our itinerary is a free day tour – Maintains Lakes and Waterfalls . The tour departs at 0830 and is a full day tour.

Visit the most treasured spots in the Canadian Rockies on this remarkable excursion through Banff and Yoho National Parks. Experience the evolution of land and discover how it has shaped the appearance of the spectacular natural wonders found in these mountain settings. Some of the incredible sights you will come across include the

unforgettable Lake Louise, Moraine Lake and the magnificent Takakkaw Falls, all surrounded by soaring mountain peaks. A BBQ lunch at Emerald Lake Lodge is included. Journey across the Great Divide and experience the awe and wonder of Yoho National Park before returning back to Banff  in the late afternoon.( Option to swap days and do this tour on Day 2 of itinerary)

Today you will travel along the Bow Valley Parkway, on to the “Jewel of the Rockies” Lake Louise, for your overnight accommodation.

All aboard Rocky Mountaineer for the scenic rail journey to Kamloops in the interior of British Columbia. Travelling in SilverLeaf as the train crosses over the continental divide you pass through the spiral tunnels in Yoho National Park, a remarkable engineering achievement. Continue on through Rogers Pass in Glacier National Park with endless views of snow-capped mountains and stunning glaciers. Later in the day, you will pass Craigellachie, where the last spike was driven completing the Canadian Pacific Railway Trans Canada link in 1885. (Breakfast & lunch included). As this is an “all daylight “journey you will spend your evening in Kamloops where overnight hotel accommodation is arranged.

Transfer from Rail station to hotel is included.

Re-board the Rocky Mountaineer train and follow the Thompson River through Ashcroft - one of Canada’s driest towns (with an average rainfall of just 18 centimetres). Pass through Rainbow Canyon with its cliffs stripped with pinks, greens and greys creating a stunning affect. Continue on to the Fraser Canyon where at Hells Gate you will observe a water torrent past the canyon walls at its narrowest point. The last leg of the journey takes you through the lush farming region of the Fraser Valley to arrive in the Pacific port of Vancouver late afternoon. Overnight hotel accommodation in Vancouver.

Today you will have time to explore the beautiful pacific coastal city of Vancouver. We would recommend Vancouver Sightseeing perhaps a trip to the top of Grouse Mountain & Capilano Suspension Bridge? Be sure to see such sights as Chinatown, Historical Gastown, the markets of Granville Island, and the famous shopping district of Robson Street. Your final day leaves you time to continue exploring Vancouver.
