On arrival into Vancouver, make your way independently to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours at leisure, so take some time to familiarise yourself with the area.

You are free today to explore this coastal city at your own pace. No trip to Vancouver would be complete without a visit to Stanley Park - its seawall, beaches, walking trails, totem poles, pool, miniature railway and more attract 8 million visitors each year. Later, indulge in fabulous shopping, have a coffee at the cities famous harbour or search for a bargain at the Granville Island Markets. You could also take a trip up Grouse Mountain for spectacular views over the city - on a clear day you can see as far as Seattle! Overnight in Vancouver.

Enjoy a morning at leisure soaking up any remaining sights in Vancouver before checking out of your hotel. Transfer to the cruise terminal where you will embark on your 7-night voyage into the Gulf of Alaska.

Located between Vancouver and Ketchikan, Alaska's Inside Passage is home to some of the most breathtaking scenery on the face of the earth, and is one of the few sea-lanes where deep-draft vessels can sail close to steep mountain walls. Keep your eyes peeled as you travel past forests in a hundred shades of green, tumbling turquoise glaciers, and peaceful coastal towns loaded with history, culture and adventure.

Accessible only by water or air, Juneau is shrouded with a sense of mystery and is surprisingly full of small town charm. Once you arrive, Alaska's capital city will delight you with its bounty of water, forests, and mountains. View the majestic Mendenhall Glacier from the East Glacier Loop Trail, or sail 1,800ft via gondola to Mount Roberts, allowing you to take in panoramic views of Alaska's capital city. The fresh air is sure to whet your appetite so take some time to sample a local treat - crisp crab cakes.

Some of the aspiring Klondike gold rushers who made it to Skagway took a look at the 500-mile journey that still lay ahead of them and decided a change of profession was in order. So many of them set up shop as provisioners that Skagway was the largest city in Alaska by the end of the 19th century! Adventure awaits those who arrive in Klondike. Ride the antique White Pass & Yukon narrow-gauge railway, step into the Red Onion Saloon or peruse the restored buildings and wooden boardwalks of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park.

Prepare to be amazed as you witness the majesty of the Sawyer Glacier. Cruise through the Tracy Arm Fjord and have your camera at the ready to snap picture after picture of the awe-inspiring Sawyer Glacier. The glacier routinely calves off icebergs as high as 10-story buildings, sending massive blocks of ice into the sea every few minutes. Watching the icebergs crash into the waves will be one of the most unforgettable moments of your trip.

Experience Eden firsthand with a stop in Ketchikan. Kayak tranquil saltwater fjords fringed by ancient forests, making sure you keep an eye out for black bear and playful porpoise. Tour the great outdoors by foot or bike, or whiz above ocean shores and never-ending forests by zipline. Ketchikan is nature's playground for anyone with a keen sense of adventure.

With most of Southeast Alaska accessible only by boat or plane, the Inside Passage is a 2,400km lifeline to the outside world and hums with activity all-day long. The landscape is ever-changing as you travel past forests, glaciers and vast mountain peaks. Keep a camera on-hand – these are memories you will want to treasure forever.

Wave goodbye to your Alaskan adventure as you disembark from your ship in Vancouver and make your way independently to your hotel. The remainder of the day is for you to enjoy at leisure. Overnight in Vancouver.

Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the coastal city of Vancouver to Kamloops, in the heart of British Columbia’s interior. Farmland gives way to the towering peaks of the Coast Mountains before the rumble of raging waters hail the arrivals of Hell's Gate. Piney forests turn into the abstract beauty of dusty desert hills. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Your day concludes as the Rocky Mountaineer travels along the shores of Kamloops Lake and into Kamloops. Overnight in Kamloops.

Today you will continue your rail journey through the ever-changing landscape. Rolling hills morph into snowy peaks, before Pyramid Falls tumbles out of its hanging valley and falls 92 meters into the North Thompson River. Make sure you have a camera on-hand to capture the beauty of the scenery. Your time onboard the Rocky Mountaineer comes to a close as you arrive in Banff. Overnight in Banff.

Today you will have an entire day to spend exploring Banff National Park at your own pace. Optional activities include soaking in the mineral pools at Upper Hot Springs, enjoying a nature walk on nearby mountain trails, visiting Banff’s historic museums, cruising on Lake Minnewanka or playing a round of golf at The Fairmont Banff Springs. Enjoy a ride on the Banff Gondola to the top of Sulphur Mountain, where you will experience unparralled views of the awe-striking Rockies landscape.  Overnight in Banff.
