Upon arrival into Vancouver Airport, make your way independently to your overnight hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.
This morning your tour begins with an introduction to downtown including Canada Place, and Robson Street. Wind through historic and modern architectural wonders en route to Stanley Park, a 1,000-acre natural oasis, surrounded by the Pacific Ocean. View the First Nations Totem Poles, and gaze upon rainforest and shoreline scenery on the way through the park. Get the camera ready for a photo stop at Prospect Point, with a great view of Lions Gate Bridge. Continue to the English Bay beach area, followed by the eclectic Granville Island Market. Top off this adventure with a glass elevator ride 169 metres above the streets, at the Vancouver Lookout, for views of the ocean, the Coastal Mountains, the city and rugged shoreline. This tour is a great introduction to the scenic and historic highlights of Vancouver.
Morning at leisure. Afternoon make your way to the cruise terminal where you will board your ship for your 7 night Alaska Cruise.
The dramatic scenery of the Inside Passage has been shaped by glaciers for millions of years. The terrain here is verdant and vivid – mysterious forests blanket the towering mountains.
Explore this Russian-influenced fishing village with a tour of the onion-domed cathedral perched atop Castle Hill. Alternatively, venture out on a sea excursion and try your hand at catching halibut.
Hubbard Glacier is the largest calving glacier on the North American continent. The glacier routinely calves off icebergs as high as 10-story buildings, sending massive blocks of ice into the sea every few minutes.
Some sightseeing is best from above. View the majestic Mendenhall Glacier from the East Glacier Loop Trail, or sail 1,800ft aloft via gondola to Mount Roberts. The fresh air’s sure to whet your appetite so try out the local treat - crisp crab cakes.
Experience Eden firsthand. Kayak tranquil saltwater fjords fringed by ancient forests, keeping an eye out for black bear and playful porpoise. Tour the great outdoors by foot or bike, or whiz above ocean shores and never-ending forests by zipline
You'll sail beyond the Inside Passage into the more protected Alaska Inside Passage, a complex labyrinth of fjords and bays where whales and sea lions find refuge during the summer months.
Disembark in Vancouver after breakfast and spend the rest of the day exploring this coastal city at leisure.
Today you will transfer from your Vancouver Hotel to the picturesque West Coast fishing village of historic Steveston, your tour travels through the spectacular Gulf and San Juan Islands. Every summer well over 80 Orca whales visit the waters south of Vancouver. Sighting chances are 90-95 per cent. Other marine wildlife you are likely to encounter include Humpback whales, Dall’s Porpoises, seals, sea lions, and bald eagles. On rare occasions Minke whales and sea elephants have been encountered.
Travel on board Rocky Mountaineer from Vancouver to Jasper. Travel through the fertile fields of the Fraser Valley to the towering peaks of the Coast Mountains before the rumble of raging waters at Hell’s Gate. Piney forests turn into the abstract beauty of dusty desert hills as you pull in to spend the night in Kamloops.
Continue your journey through a changing landscape. Rolling hills become snowy peaks as you make your way along the North Thompson River. Mount Robson marks the entry into the World Heritage Site of Jasper.
Day at leisure to explore Jasper. You may want to take a Cruise on Maligne Lake and onto Spirit Island and learn of the local history, geology & wildlife, see some of the most spectacular scenery in the Rockies (as for prices). Or, take a ride to the top of Whistler’s Mountain onboard the Jasper Tramway for some breathtaking views. Once at the top enjoy a meal in the Treeline Restaurant or take part in a complementary interpretive hike with a Mountain Guide (ask for prices)
Enjoy the wildlife, pristine lakes, and breathtaking mountain peaks along the world famous Icefields Parkway. Visit the natural wonder of the Columbia Icefield - one of the largest expanses of ice and snow south of the Arctic Circle. Step onboard an Ice Explorer for an interpretive adventure onto the Athabasca Glacier. At the Glacier Skywalk, enjoy the unobstructed view on a glass-floored observation platform extending 30 metres out over the Sunwapta Valley.
Today you will learn about the people, geology and wildlife while exploring the spectacular sights of the renowned mountain town of Banff. This excursion is highlighted with a journey on the Banff Gondola (included) for a 360º view of six mountain ranges that surround the town.

Today you will transfer by motor coach to Calgary Airport for your flight back to the UK.
