Itinerary

Depart the UK and travel to Vancouver, British Columbia.  Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your overnight hotel.  Once checked in spend the remainder of the day exploring this beautiful city nestled at the foot of the Coast Mountains.

Today you will transfer by taxi from your hotel to the cruise terminal where you will board Azamara Quest for her 10 night maiden voyage to Alaska where you will see stunning fjords, calving glaciers, and wildlife including whales, eagles and bears.

Spend the day at sea sailing in style aboard your boutique hotel at sea. Indulge in a treatment at Sanctum Spa, stay ship shape with a class at our fitness center, or lounge the day away on our sunny pool deck.

In the evening, savor inspired Italian cuisine at Aqualina, or relish in a classic steakhouse experience at Prime C. Plus, you’ll find plenty of exciting evening entertainment, from thrilling shows at Cabaret Lounge to intimate performances in the Living Room.

Visit Ketchikan, Alaska surrounded by lakes, rivers, and streams, the “Salmon Capital of the World” is an angler’s paradise. Hop on a charter and keep an eye out for Ketchikan’s other marine residents like orca and humpback whales, seals, and porpoises. Hike Married Man’s Trail, kayak the Misty Fjords, visit the Totem Heritage Centre, and stroll Creek Street for quaint restaurants, bars, gift shops, and scenic views.

Stretching from the Juneau Icefield to the waterfront downtown, Juneau is a treasure trove of sights. Dig into the city’s gold mining history at Juneau Douglas City Museum, stroll down Historic South Franklin Street, go whale or iceberg watching, tour Mendenhall Glacier and the Tongass National Forest, or board the Mount Roberts Tramway for great dining, shopping, and easy access to hiking trails.

Visit Skagway, Alaska and take in historic sites like the storied Red Onion Saloon, the yellow-domed Golden North Hotel, and the decidedly rustic Arctic Brotherhood Hall. For a more detailed account, head to the Corrington Museum of Alaska History and the Skagway Museum to see every aspect of local history from mastodon fossils and native handwoven baskets to the pistol of Skagway’s official bad boy, Soapy Smith.

Icy Strait Point is built on the site of a salmon cannery. The restored outbuildings now house a variety of restaurants, a museum, and local arts and crafts shops. The port is a cultural hub for the original inhabitants of the area—the Huna people. Enjoy an array of activities indigenous to the area including native dance performances, brown bear viewings, whale watching, fishing, birding, and hiking.

Today you will visit Sitka, Alaska. A walk around the city’s downtown brings you closer to its history with views of the Blockhouse, Russian Bishop’s House, St. Michael’s Russian Orthodox Cathedral, and the storied Castle Hill. Visit the Fortress of the Bear and the Alaska Raptor Center to get an up-close look at orphaned brown bear cubs, injured bald eagles, and other birds, and learn about both centers’ commitment to serving Alaska’s wildlife.

Venture beyond the city to breathtaking Snoqualmie Falls for a hike and a picnic and the powerful sight of the 268 foot crashing waterfall, one of the most stunning in the country. An exciting city in beautiful natural surroundings, Seattle is an alluring destination. Rain or shine.

Disembark Vancouver and transfer by taxi to where the only thing rising higher than the skyline is its snow-capped mountains. In Vancouver, you can experience summer and winter on the same day! Start with a morning on the slopes at one of the nearby ski hills, then hit the beach for an afternoon relaxing by the water. After, try some delicious meals from all around the world and discover why Vancouver is the culinary capital of Canada.

Today you will be picked up at your Vancouver Hotel and enjoy the best of Vancouver on your personalized tour.  You will see the highlights of the downtown core plus the unique neighborhoods of Chinatown, historic Gastown and fashionable Yaletown.  Immerse yourself in Stanley Park and the stories of the Stanley Park Totem Poles. Pass by English Bay, visit Granville Island Market and The Lookout for 360 degree views of the Vancouver and coastal mountains.

All Aboard! Rise early this morning for your private transfer to the Rocky Mountaineer rail station where you will board the famous Rocky Mountaineer Train for a scenic rail journey to Kamloops in the interior of British Columbia.  Pass through the rich fields of the Fraser Valley and the towering peaks of the Coastal Mountains before entering the Fraser Canyon.  Follow the Thompson River through spectacular landscapes to historic Kamloops.

Back onboard the Rocky Mountaineer and now your venture into the mountains begins in earnest.  Continue travelling east along the South Thompson River.  You will marvel at man’s ingenuity as Rocky Mountaineer enters the Spiral Tunnels.  Gaze in wonder at cascading waterfalls and icy glaciers on your to the alpine town of Banff where you will spend the next three nights

Time to explore Banff.  If you are looking for the best view, then the Banff Gondola is a must.  Finish off your evening b dining out in downtown Banff.

Early pick up at your Banff hotel for your exclusive 10 hour tour to the famous Lake Louise.  Journey past the waters of Vermilion Lakes to Johnstone Canyon.  Take a stroll along the creek, relax by the lower falls or visit their quaint gift shop. Continue on to Lake Louise, with plenty of time to enjoy lunch and partake in numerous outdoor activities such as canoeing, hiking and wildlife watching, or simply explore the historic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise before heading back to your Banff Hotel

Your amazing adventure comes to an end when you check out of your Banff hotel and take your private transfer to Calgary International Airport where you will board your flight back to the UK
