Victoria and Vancouver Island Holidays

Reference WW37894

A beautiful coastal city nestled on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, Victoria is the perfect blend of ancient heritage and new-world amenities. If you are dreaming of a destination that is both relaxing and fascinating, look no further than Canada’s provincial capital.

The multicultural history of Victoria is displayed with pride throughout the city. From First Nations history to British-inspired architecture and Asian tradition, Victoria is a perfect example of the vibrant, electric atmosphere that can be created when worlds collide.

As the oldest city in the Pacific Northwest, Victoria has charm by the bucket load. Prepare to be enchanted as you explore the waterfront, meander along the cobbled streets and admire nature at its finest. Castles, churches and temples dot the streets, and there is something to discover at every turn. If you’re looking for romance, why not embark on a unique sightseeing experience with a horse-drawn carriage ride around the city centre?

If you fancy spending your time in Victoria in a slightly more leisurely fashion, head to one of the many first-class restaurants and indulge in some local cuisine. Luxury hotel accommodation is available throughout the city, as are countless quaint B&B’s in the famous historic houses. No matter what your taste, you will fall in love with Victoria from the moment you arrive. If you want to venture further afield then there are great car hire options available for you to choose from.

Our Canada Specialists will be delighted to tailor-make your trip to suit your exact requirements. Get in touch today, your holiday to Victoria could be just around the corner.

Top Things To Do

Craigdarroch Castle
This National Historic Site was built in the 1800s for coal tycoon Robert Dunsmuir. You can explore its 39 rooms, all of which are still decorated in 20th-century furnishings. There’s also great views of the city from here.

Royal British Columbia Museum
Learn more about this important province through exhibits that include tribal artefacts from the First Nations, natural history displays and even replicas of Colonial-era settlements. There’s even an on-site IMAX theatre!

Inner Harbour
Victoria’s primary tourist neighbourhood is a stunning pedestrianised area framed by street vendors and buskers. Here, you can drink afternoon tea while keeping an eye open for whales in the water.

Cowichan Valley
If you’re a wine drinker, head to the Cowichan Valley which is British Columbia’s second-highest producing wine region. Roughly 35 miles northwest of Victoria, this valley is also home to golf courses, art galleries and liberal amounts of hiking terrain.
