Depart the UK for your indirect flight to Sydney.

On arrival at Sydney airport, you will be transferred by coach to your Sydney accommodation by Trip Shuttle operated by Royale. An optional upgrade to private car transfers is available. You are then free to spend the rest of day exploring Sydney at your own pace.

Visit the historic Rocks area and hear early convict history. Enjoy magnificent views of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. See the shopping heart of the city, Queen Victoria Building and Sydney Tower. Visit Sydney's trendy Oxford Street district and travel through Paddington with its terrace houses before arriving at the Pacific Ocean. See the superb coast cliff walk around Tamarama and Bronte. Travel on to famous Bondi Beach and visit the beachfront promenade with time to enjoy a coffee or cool drink (at own cost). See Aussie lifesavers and Sydney's best panoramic view at Dover Heights. Return to Sydney via Double Bay, Kings Cross and Mrs Macquarie's Point for a final magical viewpoint over the harbour before returning to the city centre.

Discover the spectacular Blue Mountains and see native wildlife whilst you explore World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains, National Park. First stop is Calmsley Hill, a working farm based attraction involved in animal rehabilitation offering fabulous bush surrounds located near the heart of Sydney. Get up close to a range of native and farmyard animals including Kangaroos and Koalas while enjoying a light morning tea.  Visit one of a range of stunning outlooks of the Jamison Valley with beautiful vistas, where possible away from the crowds. Continue on to Eaglehawk Lookout for views of the famous Three Sisters and to learn of the legends behind this famous rock formation. The afternoon is spent visiting a selection of scenic lookouts. The view from Govett's Leap is one of the most famous lookouts in Australia. Here the magnificent waterfall drops a whopping 180m to the base of the cliff. The last stop is the delightful Mt Tomah Botanic Gardens for a stop to enjoy the sweeping views.

Today make your way to the railway station for your Indian Pacific rail experience. Depart Sydney in the afternoon and start a true journey of contrasts - it will take you through the heights of the majestic Blue Mountains and across the barren expanse of the Nullarbor Plain, to lush vineyards and vast goldmines, and from cities of 4 million to ghost towns of just four citizens. As the train continues to navigate the heights of the ranges, it’s time to sate your appetite with one of the Indian Pacific’s signature dining experiences. After a sumptuous dinner, join other guests for a few late-night drinks or head to your cabin to settle in early and await the sights of your first incredible outback sunrise the next day. (D)

Wake up with a coffee as you arrive in Broken Hill, a classic mining town where the streets are wide and there is a pub on every corner. On your Off Train Excursion, explore the beauty of this Silver City and discover the history of mining that makes the town what it is today and the artistic culture that also abounds in the area. Stepping back onboard, head straight to Queen Adelaide Restaurant for breakfast. An extensive menu caters to all tastes – from light fare such as bagels, cereals and juices to the traditional cooked Australian breakfast. Take your time as you have a full day onboard to yourself. In no time, you'll notice a dramatic change in landscape as the outback makes way for the green and golden fields of South Australia’s food bowl. Your choice for the afternoon and evening is the picturesque city of Adelaide or the historic Barossa Valley. (B,L,D)

Wake up and marvel at the raw beauty of the Nullarbor. Taking its name from the Latin meaning ‘no trees’, the ancient Nullarbor conjures the sense of limitless space and time. Take some time to reflect on the changing landscapes in your journey and to enjoy the hospitality of the Outback Explorer Lounge as you travel across Australia’s longest single stretch of railway. Your sense of wonder will be well and truly ignited when it comes time to set foot at Rawlinna that evening. Under brilliant desert stars, enjoy an evening stop to partake in a traditional Outback lamb roast dinner under the wide Nullarbor skies. (B,L,D)

Arrive into the cosmopolitan western capital of Perth after lunch, having finished an epic Australian journey end-to-end. On arrival into Perth, make your way to your hotel for the next 3 nights. (B,L)

Discover the delights of the Swan River cruising between Perth and the Port of Fremantle. Unlimited tea and coffee is served as your Captain points out all of the sights including Perth's impressive Bell Tower, the restored Swan Brewery, Kings Park, Royal Perth Yacht Club, the magnificent homes overlooking the river and Fremantle's busy inner harbour.
