Los Cristianos is southern Tenerife’s main port town and its harbour is bustling with yachts, ferries and glass-bottom boats. On either side of this harbour, you’ll find the towns’ two main beaches – one of which is sheltered by the pier and boasts calm waters, while the other offers watersports and beach bars.

In the town itself, you’ll find car-free streets brimming with authentic local restaurants, designer shops, vibrant bars and pavement cafés. Then when the sun goes down you’ll be treated to the Los Cristianos unique brand of low-key nightlife – though if you do fancy a big night out, Playa de las Americas is just along the promenade. And remember to take the 70-minute to ferry ride to the island of La Gomera where you can explore mountain-side rainforests.
