Nestled into the southeast corner of the island, S'Algar was one of the first purpose-built resorts on the island. But over time, it's managed to retain its sleeping fishing village vibe which is a hit with visitors.
S'Algar doesn't boast a long list of activities and sights, but what it does offer, it does properly. With fantastic visibility in the waters of up to 50 metres, it is touted as one of the best snorkelling and diving spots on the island. It is also home to a small palm-shaded plaza lined with restaurants, cafes and shops selling hand-made pottery, and the local rubber-soled 'arbarca' sandals.
The capital of Mahon is also only a 20-minute drive away. It's perfect for history buffs with Georgian houses that hint at its British past and a clock that sits in city hall that was donated by the island's first British governor.
