A fairly new addition to Spain’s portfolio of holiday destinations and offers a much calmer and more authentic holiday experience.
If you're looking for somewhere you can put your feet up, enjoy hot weather and maybe even try a water sport or two; then Costa de la Luz is the destination for you. Nestled in Andalusia's breezy Atlantic coast, Costa de la Luz stretches south from Huelva all the way to Cádiz and Tarifa and boasts mile upon mile of unspoiled sandy beaches.
Costa de la Luz couldn't be more different from its Costa cousins. It's hot, in the high thirties in August, but warm enough to visit during the spring or autumn half-term. Its mixture of historic towns, sedate resorts and wonderfully long, wild stretches of surf-slapped sand bathed in the extraordinary light that gave the coast its name. All of this makes it an outstanding family destination.
There are two tourist hubs to choose from: Chiclana de la Frontera and Isla Canela. The first of which focuses on its six-kilometre beach, and offers a delicate balance between beach-front bars and untouched sands. The second town, which sits on an island connected to the region by a small bridge where you'll find a sandy beach and 18-hole golf course.
Costa de la Luz is an all-round amazing holiday destination, no matter your preferences. Speak to one of our travel experts today about booking your next escape to the Spanish sun.
