Holidays to Santa Susanna

Looking for a taste of the real Catalonia? Then look no further than Santa Susanna in Costa Brava.

The town dates back to the 12th Century, and everywhere you look you’ll spot ancient country houses, chapels and mediaeval watchtowers that were once look-out points to protect the town from pirates. There’s also two kilometres of beach that is backed by a palm-fringed promenade filled with delicious seafood restaurants.

While Santa Susanne is a little more rural than the other resorts in Costa Brava, you’ll still find other resorts not too far away. Barcelona is only an hour’s train ride away, the Massif Montnegre national park is close by (and amazing for hikers), and the town of Malgrat is only a 10-minute taxi away.

Barcelona Free Day from Costa Brava

Adult: £28 Child (3-10 yrs): £19

From Costa Brava to Barcelona! Get the best of both worlds when you travel from scenic Costa Brava to the bustling Catalan capital. There’s so much to explore in Barcelona and your driver will drop you off near either Plaça de Catalunya, the centre of the city where old and new Barcelona meet, or the famed Columbus Monument at the lower end of La Rambla.

Maybe you’ll spend your time at the Sagrada Familia, the ambitious church that began construction over 100 years ago, or pop down to Barcelona Zoo in Parc de la Ciutadella. Music lovers have to visit Palau de la Música Catalana, just off Las Ramblas—but your time is your own and you’ll have around 6 hours to spend in Barcelona.

When your time is up, board the bus again to travel back to your Costa Brava accommodation. If a quieter holiday is more your thing but you want to see the bright lights of the city once on your getaway, this trip is ideal.
