Holidays to Torrevieja

If you’re drawn to the marshmallow-white sands of Costa Blanca, but prefer cosmopolitan cities to traditional holiday resorts – then we recommend the charming Torrevieja.

This is quite a new player in the Spanish holiday scene, and offers something a little different. Historically it was a fishing town, but was levelled by an earthquake in 1829 and its re-building processes took inspiration from areas all over Europe. These days it has an international mix of residents too so expect eclectic cuisine and varied accents.

The beach, however, is exactly what you would expect from somewhere located along the Costa Blanca coast. Playa La Cura is the main beach in Torrevieja, which is backed by backed by bars, cafés and restaurants.
