The village dates back to the 17th Century and is incredibly well-preserved. The architecture is what you have come to expect from Santorini: white Cycladic houses encased by high outer walls, as well as courtyards and mysterious winding alleys. And of course, you'll spot iconic blue-domed roofs dotted across the skyline!

Surrounding the village, you'll be treated to incredible views of the local vineyards. Megalochoris is the heart of Santorini's wine industry and boasts its own home-grown wine: Vinsanto. Wine tastings are copious, as are local farms where you can sample the locally-grown cuisine.

The capital of Fira is only nine kilometres away, where you can climb staggering cliffs for incredible views of the surrounding azure waters. The villages and towns of Perissa, Emporio, and Perivolos are also easily accessible on the local bus routes.
