Many of Kefalonia’s resorts are known for lively nightlife and fun in the sun, but not Lourdas.
Instead, what you will find here is a pretty village overlooking a lovely bay with a traditional feel, complete with bright climbing bougainvillaea and azure blue skies.
The beach here is unexpectedly large and can accommodate far more visitors that tend to make the short walk down the hill from the village each day to lie in the sun, read in the shade, paddle and swim.
You can also explore the area around the village on foot, where the views get more spectacular the higher you climb. The main square in Lourdas is an atmospheric spot for experiencing dusk in this part of the world and remains the beating heart of Lourdas. If you’re up for a party after dinner, then there are several music bars here, or you can head north to Argostoli for a night on the tiles.
