Choose one of our cheap Munich city breaks, and you see what many refer to as ‘Germany’s unofficial southern capital’, and it is not hard to see why.

The country’s largest city after Berlin and Hamburg, Munich has a population of around 1.5 million and has become one of the most desired European cities for tourists. The place to be for art galleries, museums and stunning architecture, this city is a wonderfully cultural location for those looking to learn about German history.

However, this is not the only selling point, as Munich hosts numerous sporting events, exhibitions, and theatre shows. Of course, the world-famous Oktoberfest festival attracts considerable interest from visitors worldwide.

Things to do:

Marienplatz - The city's main square. It is an iconic and ideal local for anyone to visit in Munich.
Hofbräuhaus München - The world's oldest tavern is a home to Bavarian culture and is simply a must for any traveller to experience.
Allianz Arena - This 75,000 seat stadium is the home of FC Bayern Munich. Experience Germany's most decorated football team in action at this iconic stadium.
Neuschwanstein Castle - Opened to the public in 1886, 'the castle of the fairy-tale king' is a beautiful & historic relic left behind by King Ludwig II.
BMW Museum - A museum dedicated to the history of arguably the most famous of car brands in the world.
