Without wishing to brag, we have to say that we ARE skiing in Mammoth. We 'discovered' the mountain for UK visitors, and we've built up a close relationships with the hotels and local community over the years so that we can offer you the very best in value and quality. The set-up here at Mammoth is refreshingly simple. There's one mountain, and it's a very, very big one. That's why they call it Mammoth! You can stay in an excellent slope-side hotel or in one of the friendly, family-run hotels in Mammoth Lakes. The downtown area is a 10-min drive or COMPLIMENTARY shuttle from the Main Lodge, and houses the NEW 'Village at Mammoth' development with its gondola to Canyon Lodge.

Getting Around:
There are regular FREE shuttles running between the town and the slopes. First night? You can choose to drive to Mammoth on your day of arrival, or enjoy a relaxed first night at a Los Angeles airport hotel.

Apres Ski

The Clocktower Cellar Bar at Alpenhof Lodge always has a good atmosphere. On-slope bars include The Mill, Thunderbar (both in the main lodge area), The Canyon Bar and The Yodler at Mammoth Mountain Inn. Whiskey Creek is a lively spot for late-night partying and in the New Village you can visit Hennessy's. Lakanaki and Dublin's. There are also several great restaurants in town.

Ski Area Terrain

This is simply one of North America's biggest and best mountains. The views are awesome, and the terrain runs the gamut from high, steep, expert-only chutes and bowls to long, easy cruising runs in the trees. Boarders have 3 impressive unbound terrain parks, many half-pipes and great free-riding all over the mountain. Plus, June Mountain ski area is just 20 min north of Mammoth Lakes!

Beginners:
Mammoth Mountain is great for beginners. The nursery slopes and tuition make progressing onto the main runs easy and with the amazing snow conditions you'll be skiing down blues in no time!

Intermediates:
Most of the lower mountain is perfect for intermediates. The variety is endless and skiers and boarders can spend the whole holiday exploring everything from wide-open slopes to steep wooded runs.

Advanced:
Mammoth holds many challenges. Short, steep runs and extremely tough double blacks at the top of the mountain will keep experts entertained and happy.

Snowboarders:
Mammoth has over 70 acres of 'Unbound' terrain. The Unbound comprises of 3 impressive terrain parks and half-pipes for all abilities. Mammoth's sister mountain June also offers great terrain for boarders.
