Whether you want to hear classical music or classic rock & roll, nightlife in Bermuda definitely won’t leave you singing the blues. And you never know who you’ll find jamming at any one of our pubs, lounges, and hotel bars. Hotel clerks, cab drivers, and even shopkeepers will be happy to tell you where to have a good time. Some places close in the off-season, so for the latest information about what’s going on each night, be sure to pick up a free copy of Preview Bermuda and This Week in Bermuda, which can be found in visitor centres and hotels.
Music to your ears
The music scene is dominated by local acts and bands playing the Island’s hotel and pub circuits. Enjoy live jazz, or contemporary bands playing everything from reggae to rock & roll. Occasionally, outside performers are billed, particularly during the Bermuda Festival. Legends such as Chaka Khan, Al Jarreau, and George Benson have performed at the annual Bermuda Jazz Festival. And keep your ears peeled for the Coca-Cola Steel Band, and the Bermuda Strollers. If all of this sounds good to you, then click on the links for more information.
An afternoon in Bermuda’s quaintest shops, found mostly throughout the City of Hamilton, is a must. Enjoy highly-personalised service as you browse over Irish linens, crystal, local art, and antiques from around the world. And of course, Bermuda shorts are always a hot item.
Water covers 80% of the earth. And we can attest to that fact, because in Bermuda you’re never more than one mile away from water. Parasailing, helmet diving, kayaking, and water skiing are second nature to us. So come on over and get your feet wet.
Dive right in
On a subtropical Island surrounded by water, the possibilities are endless. Waterskiing, snorkeling, diving, parasailing. Whatever floats your boat, you’ll find it in Bermuda. And you’ll also find experienced instructors who will have you up in no time.
Walk underwater
Helmet diving enjoys great popularity in Bermuda. Youngsters and non-swimmers can stroll along the sandy ocean bottom in water up to 12 feet deep without getting their hair wet. An experienced guide personally conducts the tours, and it’s as simple as walking through a garden. Make that a tropical garden.
While Bermuda attracts accomplished musicians and artists from all over the world, we have quite an array of our own music, dance, and performance art to share. Whether you’re looking for jazz quartets, modern dance troupes, or anything in between, you’ll find it in clubs and resorts throughout the Island.
