One of Oulu's most interesting places to visit for people of all ages, is Tietomaa. Inside you'll find all sorts of scientific things of interest. Various technologies are explained and there are lots of things to learn about, but more importantly, you're allowed to play with everything! This is the place that makes science interesting for everyone.
Don't miss it! . Castle ruins and the old observatory tower. Built in 1590, the castle of Oulu was destroyed by lightning in 1793. There is an exhibition on the history of the castle on the site, and the observation tower built in 1875 for teaching astronomy now serves as a summertime café
