MV Lord of the Glens

All round teak-clad viewing and promenade decks, the MV 'Lord of the Glens' boasts all the sumptuousness of a classic luxury yacht. Yet having only 27 luxury en-suite state cabins, all of which face outside, it nurtures the friendly intimacy of a boutique hotel. The 'MV Lord of the Glens' is the only passenger vessel capable of navigating both the Scottish inland waterways of the Caledonian Canal and the open sea. This is achievable due to both the ship's dimensions and its ability to satisfy the stringent safety requirements of the British Maritime authorities. Your comfort on board the 'Lord of the Glens' is of paramount concern. Therefore, you will be satisfied to learn that each of the tastefully furnished en-suite cabins has individually controlled air-conditioning/heating, a hairdryer, trouser press, satellite TV, safe deposit box, music system, internal telephone, dressing table and stool and a full size wardrobe. 23 of these cabins have tinted picture windows, whilst the remaining 4 on the James Watt Deck each possess a couple of large portholes. The public areas of the ship include a Bar & two Lounges that are located on the top deck, thereby affording magnificent views of the surrounding scenery besides leading to the forward teak-clad viewing area. Mps Amsterdam

Mps Amsterdam

A warm welcome awaits aboard the welcoming mps Amsterdam; from the moment our luggage is lifted aboard at the start of our cruise to the time it is set down again at its close, our comfort and wellbeing is the prime concern of the ship's attentive crew. Accommodating only 98 passengers, a convivial atmosphere pervades the ship with passengers and crew soon becoming friends. Daytimes are largely spent up on the ship's spacious Sun Deck with its partially covered area, terrace and plentiful seating. This is surely river cruising at its best; with the breeze rustling our hair and a 360 degree span of uninterrupted views. Even if the weather is a little inclement, the comfortable lounge bar on the Promenade Deck still allows us to take in those magnificent views through its large panoramic windows. This is also where our evening get-togethers take place. With a spacious dance floor, well-stocked bar and seating for everyone, this is the hub of the ship where we gather each evening to enjoy the included evening entertainment. A principal part of a cruise is undoubtedly the quality of the food served. The mps Amsterdam won't disappoint with breakfast, lunch and dinner all freshly prepared on board and served in the attractive restaurant, which also has the benefit of magnificent views through its panoramic windows. Breakfast is buffet style with a choice of hot and cold dishes. Lunch also adheres to a buffet style format, whilst dinner is generally a four-course set menu. Don't be deterred from booking an excursion for fear of missing your lunch, the mps Amsterdam's galley will ensure you don't go hungry by equipping you with an appetising packed lunch. Our comfort is always of paramount importance to the captain and his crew. To this end, the entire ship including the cabins, benefits from air conditioning. The cabins are all efficiently furbished, with all twin cabins having a practical fold up construction that allows one of the twin beds to be transformed into a sofa during the day. Naturally, all of the cabins offer en-suite facilities with a shower and toilet. The cabins are located on both the Promenade and Main Decks, with the 36 cabins on the Main Deck being only accessible via a stairway. A chair lift interconnects the cabins and public rooms on the Promenade Deck with the Sun Deck. All of the 13 Promenade Deck cabins benefit from panoramic windows; whilst the cabins on the Main Deck have sliding windows placed at a higher level which, although permitting natural light, make them more difficult to see out of. The B cabins at the front part of the ship on this deck level also have their view obscured in part by the ship's bulwarks. Very little time shall be spent in the cabins anyway; there's too much going on around the Sun and Promenade Decks! A pop into the souvenir shop by Reception should satisfy many basic needs including those all-important postcards to tell everyone back home what they're missing. Should you feel the need for some quiet time with a good book, the ship's small library should also amply service your requirements. Personal choice is a key feature of life aboard the mps Amsterdam; the captain and crew will do all they can to ensure you enjoy every minute.

Mps Lady Anne

Mps Lady Anne

The 106-berth mps Lady Anne is a floating "home from home". The owner and Captain of the ship, Capt. Wido Arts has brought together an experienced and amiable crew whose paramount importance is the comfort of our passengers. Indeed, it is greatly due to the warm and relaxed atmosphere created on board that our returning passengers choose to join another mps Lady Anne cruise. From the moment our luggage is lifted on board for us, to the time it’s delivered back on shore, the crew of the mps Lady Anne have only our personal comfort and safety at the forefront of their minds. A choice of cabin accommodation is offered on three levels from single berths down on the Passenger Deck to 2-berth cabins with panoramic windows on the Main and Promenade Decks. All the cabins, from single berths to triple berths, have outside views, ample heating, a safe and private facilities with washbasin, shower and wc; two superior cabins on the Promenade Deck also offer a bath with shower attachment. Please note: Stair lifts lead from the Sun Deck to the Promenade Deck, Promenade Deck to the Main Deck and the Main Deck to the restaurant area of the Passenger Deck. The ordinary stairs are quite steep and those to the Passenger Deck are particularly steep. The Passenger Deck is NOT RECOMMENDED for people with any sort of difficulties with stairs. N.b. the stair lift serving the Passenger Deck does not give access to the cabins, only the restaurant. Please also note that 3 berth cabins are 2 lower bunks and 1 upper bunk. Delicious home-style fare is freshly prepared in the ship’s galley before being served in the attractive restaurant on the Passenger Deck. Breakfast is buffet style with a selection of hot and cold dishes to choose from. Lunch also adheres to a buffet style format whilst dinner is generally a four-course set menu. Don’t be deterred from booking an excursion for fear of missing your lunch; the mps Lady Anne galley will ensure you don’t go hungry by equipping you with an appetising packed lunch. Early risers amongst us are treated to free tea and coffee, whilst everyone is served complimentary mid-morning tea or coffee in the lounge. We’re therefore amply catered for whilst on board the mps Lady Anne from our first buffet dinner on boarding to our final buffet breakfast on departing. On warm days, daytime cruising is largely spent on the ship’s sundeck with its ‘garden-style’ seating and open and covered areas. With the breeze rustling our hair, and the sun warming our faces, this is river cruising at its best. Even when the climate dictates that we remain tucked inside the spacious lounge bar however, we still have an awareness of open spaces and breathtaking scenery around us due to the magnificent panoramic windows. This delightful lounge is where the on-board entertainment and get-togethers take place. With a dance floor, well-stocked bar and comfortable seating for everyone, it’s the ‘hub’ of the ship. Just below on the Main Deck a small souvenir shop keeps us supplied with postcards, maps and a selection of everyday essentials. Life on board the mps Lady Anne is so relaxed and enjoyable, you’ll want to mail cards back home to tell everyone what they’re missing!
