Silver Cloud

Silver Cloud

As the inaugural ship for Silversea Cruises, Silver Cloud epitomises everything that is Silversea. Since its launch, Silver Cloud has travelled to all corners of the world while introducing her guests to a superlative level of luxury. Designed to provide the most intimate of sailing experiences, a Silver Cloud cruise provides 296 privileged guests with the luxury of space and the ability to slip into exotic ports off the beaten path. Each ocean-view suite provides a sumptuous retreat. Each public space is intimate yet inviting. Silver Cloud is often described by returning guests as their own private yacht, their home away from home.

2011 finds the Silver Cloud ship lingering amidst balmy Caribbean tradewinds and crossing Panama to explore Mexico before travelling northward to summer in Iceland, Scandinavia and the United Kingdom. Autumn in Andalusia is followed by an eastward jaunt to Italy and the Greek Isles before Silver Cloud returns to the warm Caribbean waters and explorations in the Amazon.

2012 begins with Silver Cloud soaking up the Caribbean sun. Then it’s a quick stop in Bermuda en route to a European season that extends from April through August. Silver Cloud heads south to the warmer Mediterranean waters for autumn and come November, crosses the Atlantic to explore the Amazon and trace the eastern coast of South America, arriving at the end of the year at the “end of the world” in Chile.

Silversea’s purpose-built Silver Explorer expedition ship (formerly the Prince Albert II) has been designed specifically for navigating waters in some of the world’s most remote destinations, including both of earth’s polar regions. A strengthened hull with a Lloyd’s Register ice-class notation (1A) for passenger vessels enables Silver Explorer to safely push through ice floes with ease. A fleet of Zodiac boats allows Silversea Expedition guests to visit even the most off-the-beaten path locations and an expert Expedition Team provides insight and understanding to each unforgettable Silver Explorer cruise adventure.

Silversea’s Millennium Class ships – Silver Shadow and her sister ship Silver Whisper – are built with proportions slightly larger in size than their two earlier ships, yet they retain the same level of genuine hospitality. Third in the Silversea fleet, the Silver Shadow cruise ship introduced guests to the next generation of Silversea cruising while maintaining Silversea’s award winning, all-suite luxury and trademark intimate ambience.

Spectacular New Zealand fiords and Australia’s Outback are but two of the unforgettable destinations encountered aboard Silver Shadow cruises during 2011. Following a brief drydock, Silver Shadow guests will enjoy fully refreshed onboard décor as they cruise into extraordinary Far East ports. Silver Spirit

The newest vessel in the Silversea family, Silver Spirit offers the distinctive luxuries and celebrated lifestyle Silversea guests adore, plus enticing enhancements including Stars Supper Club, an Asian-themed restaurant, an expansive 8,300-square-foot spa, a resort-style pool, four whirlpools, and the largest suites in the Silversea fleet — 95% with private verandas.

Silver Spirit sails into 2012 with a Panama Canal crossing and a scenic Chilean fjords cruise, then indulges her guests in a world of “sun”sational destinations. Brazil, the Caribbean and Mexico hot spots are followed by Iberia and the Mediterranean with a special focus on glamorous Greece. Silver Spirit returns to the Caribbean’s tranquil warmth for the holiday season.

For Silver Spirit, 2013 begins with voyages that sail through the Caribbean, across the Panama Canal and into Mexico. February features maiden visits to French Polynesia, Kiribati and all the major islands in Hawaii. And extended season of Mediterranean sailings focuses on the Greek Isles, Athens and Istanbul, and the Black Sea region. Taking Silversea’s award-winning concept of all-suite luxury to the next level, these two sister ships – Silver Shadow and Silver Whisper – are slightly larger, yet retain the familiarity and intimacy of Silversea’s two earlier ships. Aboard the Silver Whisper cruise ship, savour a convivial cosmopolitan ambience and many special amenities usually found only on larger ships, including boutique shopping; a wellness spa with beauty salon, fitness centre and sauna; full-scale productions in a multi-tiered show lounge; an Internet Café and WiFi service from stem to stern.

Aboard the Silver Whisper cruise ship, 2011 arrives in the majestic Chilean fjords, setting the tone for a year of spectacular experiences in South America, the Caribbean and Northern Europe. Fulfilling the requests of Silversea’s valued guests, itineraries include three nights in St Petersburg, Norwegian fjord cruising, and fall foliage season in Canada and New England. The year concludes as it begins for the Silver Whisper, with voyages in the Caribbean and South America.

In 2012 Silver Whisper visits Brazil then explores South Africa and the fantastic Indian Ocean landscapes – east to the marvels of the South China Sea, west to the storied Arabian Sea and Egypt. Spring and summer reveal Europe at its best before arriving in Canada for autumn’s vibrant fall foliage. Silver Whisper’s globetrotting pace slows with soothing Caribbean sailings through year’s end.

2011 itineraries aboard Silver Wind begin in fascinating Dubai, visit India and exotic Oman, slip into the seductive Seychelles and trace Africa’s coastline from Mombasa to Cape Town to Morocco. Mediterranean destinations including the Black Sea ports and ancient Egypt fill the spring, summer and fall seasons. An encore of exotic Arabian ports and tranquil Seychelles islands close out the 2011 Silver Wind cruise year.
